It is a place of natural beauty, with imposing cliffs 150 meters high. Along the coast, in addition to an extensive beach, we find the Estoril Casino, the largest casino in Europe, but also where the famous secret agent James Bond was conceived. Portugal was a neutral country in World War II, which attracted people from espionage networks on both sides. This made Estoril a true nest of wartime spies. It was at this time that Ian Fleming stayed at the Hotel Palácio do Estoril and spent his time at the Casino, where he learned Morse code, lived with spies in bars, and took Martinis with him. In this way, he had the main references to create James Bond, who is also always accompanied by his Martini on screen. -
